Duas for Ramadan and After Ramadan

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The Salaf used to write down their most important Du’as and recite them frequently during the month of Ramadan. Since it is the most superior month, it comes with many blessings, one of which is the acceptance of du’a.
Many of us wait until the last ten days to make our du’a, thinking that only Laylatul Qadr will help them get accepted. In reality, each and every minute of Ramadan holds power. So, never miss the opportunity to make du’a.

Here is a list of Du’as you can make during Ramadan:

When Opening Your Fast #1

Dhahaba-ẓ-ẓama’, wa-b-tallati-l-ʿurūq, wa thabata-l-ajru in shā’a-llāh.
The thirst has gone, the veins have been moistened, and the reward has been secured, if Allah wills.
[Abu Dawud 2357]

When Opening Your Fast #2

Allāhumma laka ṣumtu wa ʿalā rizqiqa afṭart.
Oh Allah, for You I have fasted, and with Your provision I have broken my fast.
[Abu Dawud 2358]

When Leaving a Gathering

Subḥānaka-llāhumma wa bi ḥamdik, ash-hadu al-lā ilāha illā Ant, astaghfiruka wa atūbu ilayk.
You are free from imperfection, Oh Allah, and all praise is to You. I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.
[Tirmidhī 3433]

Du’a for Forgiveness

Oh Allah, You are forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.
[Sunan Ibn Majah]

Oh Allah, I beg you for steadfastness in all matters and the determination to take the right course. I ask You for all that which will necessitate Your mercy and the determination to do all that which will necessitate Your forgiveness. I ask You to make me grateful for Your blessings and to worship You in an excellent manner. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I ask You for the good of what You know, I seek Your protection from the evil of what You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know. Indeed, You are the All-Knowing of the unseen.
